The Congregational Church of Batavia Goods and Services Auction is an elegant, fun event to which everyone is invited and can participate. Whether you are donating, bidding, volunteering or just there to watch, we encourage your attendance. There will be items for every budget, child care, delicious treats, and a lot of friendly competition all for a good cause.

Item donation
The deadline to submit items electronically has passed. You can donate items the day of the auction by dropping them off at the church on Saturday, October 19, between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Don't forget that there will be a silent auction for items valued up to $100, as well as some fun raffle items.

The Goods and Services Auction is our biennial fundraiser that has commonly been used to supplement our church's operating budget. This year as the Finance Team prepared the 2013 budget, the members wanted to begin a transition that would eventually eliminate our reliance on a fundraiser to meet our budgetary means. While this year's budget calls for $3000 to be raised from our fall fundraiser, any additional money raised at the event can benefit other areas of our church that require assistance. This year, additional funds beyond the budgeted amount are designated to be used for our outreach programs, which experienced the largest budget reduction this year, both in total funds ($14,000 less) and percentage (35% compared to other teams' 25%). We hope these funds will bring the outreach budget more in proportion with the other budget line items.

If you are not planning on donating any goods or services, but would like to volunteer on the day or evening of the event, please contact Joe Blomquist at or fill out this volunteer form. We are looking for assistance with auction logistics, decorating before the event, kitchen help and desserts for the sweets table.
